Dishes, Japan

This drawing probably needs no explanation, but I will say that during my 2 and a half months in Japan, I had many memorable meals. In my opinion food is one of the strongest parts of the Japanese experience for a traveller. I would looked forward to every meal, especially so when I was trekking.

Yes it was the food, the tastes, the things you'd never seen let alone eaten before, things you ate that you had no idea what it was! But it was also the presentation, the many colourful plates, bowls, cups and dishes. Sometimes, you would have 10 or more different items laid out before you, each with its own unique dish. Every meal was an experience, every meal special.
