I’d heard a bit about Geisha coffee before, but I hadn’t realised that Panama was quite famous for it and arguably producing the best of it.
Lumaca is a very well kept and appointed clothing store/cafe that does a Geisha ‘pour over’ experience for US$10. It’s expensive, so I denied myself until it dawned on me that I could do a drawing of it and suddenly, it felt worth it. It was gonna keep at me anyway so why not, right?
I usually drink milky lattes and cappuccinos so this black coffee deal was different for me in itself. But I will say that while I won’t hurry to have it again, there was something kinda pure about it. Apparently this Geisha variety is helping tea drinking parts of Asia cross the bridge into coffee culture. Anyway, kudos to the people at Lumaca and the beautiful artwork of MadMagos, a terrific artist from Panama City.
