Gunung Rinjani, Lombok, Indonesia

Gunung (Mt) Rinjani is a spectacular volcano on the island of Lombok beside Bali in Indonesia. It's 3726m high and has a large lake in its crater. Beside this lake, another cone, a smaller volcano is emerging. It's an incredible sight.

With this drawing, I've just run with the idea of a volcano within a volcano. I really love the 'aerial' perspective for my drawings, even if it's only imagined. You'll understand, in this way a volcano lends itself very well to a mandala artist.
