About this Mandala
So this is a pretty modest court, but it has some street art on its walls and backboards which add to the interest. As much as anything, I was really taken with the ‘Montezuma’ piece in full street grafitti style that covered the main wall. I spent ages trying to push it into a circle, it was really challenging! Montezuma is one of my favourite places in Costa Rica and very small, so I was just so pleased to see that even here, you could shoot a hoop.
Basketball is like music. Whether we enjoy it or not, it holds a common thread that we are all familiar with, regardless of where we come from. A free, public court gives opportunities to everyone, most importantly to those without privilege. Or simply pleasure. Likewise, legal street art. It extends the range from where mastery may emerge. It’s a beautiful thing.
Print Information
All prints are produced from high quality scans that use embedded colour profiles to ensure that the print colours are as true as possible to the original artwork. The prints are archival quality, using the giclee printing process on 310gsm cotton rag paper that is acid-free and lignin-free.
