Romeos Toucan Tattoo

I met Romeo at Hostel Playa 506 on Playa Cocles near Puerto Viejo, in the southeast Caribbean corner of Costa Rica. He was a super cool bird guy and already had an owl on his left flank. He was introduced to Gabi Castro, a local tattoo artist with a great eye and a steady hand, and now he has a toucan on his right flank too. She did such a great job of the tattoo, I kind of adopted it to put my own take on her work. I pushed it into a circle of course, a compulsion of mine… and whatcha gonna do for a Rainbow-billed Toucan? You’re gonna add some colour. So I did. Such a beautiful bird, and in some areas, quite visible too.
