Miniloc Island is only a short 10km boat ride from El Nido, a popular tourist centre in Palawan, The Philippines. It's just one of so many small limestone islands that are scattered generously around the area, but it's one of the most spectacular and accessible to visit, with its labyrinthine lagoons and tiny hidden coves and beaches.

It's impossible not to notice just how many tourists and operators there are, with catamarans and kayaks, snorkelers and swimmers everywhere... but few would regret the trip. It really is a little piece of paradise and totally worth an explore.

This drawing is by no means geographically accurate, it's a product of my imagination, as informed by what I saw and experienced during my visit. On this extraordinary planet, you could look at a leaf, or even at a cell under a microscope and find symmetry... but from above, at distance, we can sometimes find it too, where we never suspected it. Occasionally through my work, I pronounce, and sometimes even invent this symmetry in my drawings.
