GypSea Cafe is a great little cafe in Playa Chiquita, a few km's south of Puerto Viejo in Costa Rica. In my time there during the pandemic, if ever I felt like getting out of the hostel but didn't want the hustle and bustle of PV, I would head to GypSea. It was also a great place for a taste of home. You could eat local if you wanted, but their speciality was Eggs Benedict of which they had a range. A decent Eggs Benny is very hard to find in Central America, so I was delighted to hear about GypSea, even more so to have my expectations exceeded.
Anyway, the vibe is great, a lovely garden and the music is always upbeat, the staff like they're ready to break out into full party mode at any moment. I spent several afternoons drawing in their garden, and always returned to the hostel a happier man.
